Skateparks and bike parks in Northern Cyprus
There are still not many specially equipped areas in Northern Cyprus for cycling, scootering, skateboarding, or rollerblading. However, there are a few popular spots suitable for both beginners and experienced riders.
Long Beach
The most accessible place for wheeled activities is Long Beach in Iskele. Along the coast, there is a 2 km-long bike path suitable for relaxed rides on bicycles, rollerblades, or scooters. The area is especially popular with families and those just learning to ride.
The path has a smooth surface, lighting, and is close to cafés, recreational zones, and beach facilities. It’s an excellent place for a leisurely ride with the sea and sunset as a backdrop.
Fibera Skatepark
The first full-fledged skatepark in Northern Cyprus — “Fibera” — is located in the Nicosia area. It’s a specially designed facility for skateboarding, BMX, rollerblading, and scootering.
The park is equipped with ramps, rails, funboxes, and varying levels of difficulty — from beginners to advanced riders. Training sessions, workshops, and informal competitions are frequently held here. The park is also suitable for children learning to balance on a skateboard or bike.
Infrastructure development plans
At the moment, “Fibera” remains the only skatepark in the northern part of the island, but the situation is gradually changing. Municipalities in Kyrenia, Nicosia, and Famagusta are discussing projects to create sports zones that include areas for skaters and cyclists.
Some new promenades and parks are already being designed with active recreation enthusiasts in mind. For example, the promenade in Lapta and along the beach in Güzelyurt have sections suitable for rollerblading and scootering.
