37 people checked during migration raids in Güzelyurt, İskele and Lefkoşa
The Migration Management Center (Migration Management Center), under the Ministry of Interior (Ministry of Interior), carried out simultaneous migration inspections in Güzelyurt, İskele and Lefkoşa on September 16, 2025.
The operations were conducted with the support of district administrations and the police. Mobile inspection vehicles of the Migration Management Center participated in the inspections. At checkpoints, officers checked foreigners’ documents and residence permits one by one.
As a result of the inspections, data concerning 37 people were reviewed. The inspections revealed individuals without legal status, those with expired residence permits, and those staying in the country without the necessary authorization. Persons found to be in an illegal situation were escorted by police to the Return Center (Return Center) for the application of prescribed procedures and the subsequent initiation of legal processes.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the measures are aimed at ensuring national security and public order, as well as preventing illegal residence. The Ministry noted that inspections involving mobile units and law enforcement agencies will be conducted regularly and their scope will be expanded.
