Rain and Thunderstorms Expected Across Northern Cyprus on September 5
According to the TRNC Department of Meteorology, low pressure and cool, moist air in the upper atmosphere will influence the region on Thursday, September 5. Forecasters predict partly cloudy weather with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Temperatures will remain within the seasonal average, ranging from 29°C to 36°C across most parts of the country. The coolest areas will be Lapta and Esentepe.
The heaviest rainfall is expected in the central part of the country, the Karpas Peninsula, and the areas surrounding Güzelyurt.
Strong southwesterly winds are forecasted, but no storms are expected today.
There are two active weather warnings in Northern Cyprus. The risk of wildfires remains high, and the level of ultraviolet (UV) radiation is also elevated.
It’s advised not to stay in direct sunlight for more than 15 minutes, especially between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, unless you take appropriate precautions.

- Northern coast: Kyrenia – 32°C, Lapta – 29°C, Akdeniz – 31°C, Alevkaya – 30°C, Esentepe – 29°C
- Western coast: Lefke – 34°C, Güzelyurt – 33°C
- Central region: Nicosia – 36°C, Ercan – 35°C
- Eastern coast: Famagusta – 32°C, İskele – 34°C
- Karpas Peninsula: Yenierenköy – 32°C
