50 TRNC Citizens Contact Missions in Iran and Gulf Countries
TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Mustafa Lakadamyalı reported that currently 50 TRNC citizens in Iran and the Persian Gulf countries have contacted the republic's diplomatic missions.
In a comment to the Cyprus Turkish News Agency (TAK), Lakadamyalı specified that 37 individuals are in Dubai (UAE) for tourism. According to him, the group is staying in hotels, is safe, and remains in constant contact with TRNC representatives. The Turkish Consul General also visited the group at their hotel.
Additionally:
- 11 citizens are in the UAE for work or personal matters,
- 2 individuals are in Doha (Qatar).
Due to airspace closures and flight cancellations, citizens are forced to remain in their host countries. Once air travel is restored, their return will be organized.
Lakadamyalı urged citizens to stay in safe areas and avoid leaving their accommodation unless necessary. Missions will provide assistance if needed.
He also emphasized that the TRNC MFA Consular Call Center operates 24/7. Citizens can contact the center as well as missions in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait, and Muscat.
