Ajet bans transport of animals in the luggage hold: new rules take effect on September 1
Starting September 1, Ajet is introducing new rules for pet transportation. According to the changes, pets will no longer be allowed in the luggage hold — they can only travel in the aircraft cabin.
Transport is permitted for cats, dogs, and small birds. Animals must be in a carrier weighing up to 8 kilograms and measuring no more than 23×30×40 centimeters. The carrier must be placed under the seat in front of the passenger, and the assigned seat will be by the window to avoid disturbing others.
Passengers are required to notify the airline in advance if they plan to travel with a pet. For regular pets, the notification must be made at least 6 hours before departure, while for guide dogs — 48 hours in advance.
The transportation fee has also changed. On domestic flights, the service costs 450 Turkish lira, on flights to Northern Cyprus — 600 lira, and on international routes — 65 euros. It is important to note that for connecting flights, the fee is charged separately for each leg of the journey.
The new rules are aimed at increasing safety and comfort for both passengers and animals during flights.
