Buse Savaşkan Wins Two Bronze Medals in France
Athlete Buse Savaşkan from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus earned two bronze medals in just three days at high jump events in France.
On Friday, she claimed bronze at the Meeting Indoor Miramas Metropole in Rohn, jumping 1.85 meters.
Then, on Sunday, Savaşkan once again made it to the podium, finishing third at the Meeting de L'Eure 2025 competition held at Jesse Owens Stadium. This time, her jump was 1.83 meters. The event was part of the Silver level Indoor World Athletics Tour.
Her next stop is Italy, where she'll compete in Udine on Thursday, February 6.
It's also worth mentioning that last year, Buse Savaşkan was the sole representative from Northern Cyprus at the Paris Olympics. She made it to the high jump final and placed 10th, achieving a historic feat. When she returned home, she was greeted as a national hero.
