Passenger Numbers at Ercan Airport Up Nearly 20%
Passenger traffic at Ercan Airport in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) rose by 18.87% in the first four months of 2025 compared to the same period last year. The number of flights also increased significantly — by 21.77%.
According to data released by the airport’s operator, T&T Airport Operations, a total of 1,647,027 passengers passed through Ercan Airport between January and April 2025. In the same period in 2024, the number stood at 1,385,516.
Aircraft movements also saw a noticeable rise. In the first four months of 2024, Ercan handled 9,121 flights, compared to 11,107 in 2025.
Monthly Breakdown of Passenger and Flight Numbers:
- January 2024: 334,510 passengers, 2,301 flights
- January 2025: 443,811 passengers, 2,942 flights
- February 2024: 354,960 passengers, 2,220 flights
- February 2025: 395,753 passengers, 2,544 flights
- March 2024: 336,020 passengers, 2,261 flights
- March 2025: 374,417 passengers, 2,678 flights
- April 2024: 360,026 passengers, 2,339 flights
- April 2025: 443,046 passengers, 2,943 flights
