Cypfruvex announces citrus purchase prices; applications accepted from January 12
Cypfruvex announced at a press conference in Northern Cyprus the purchase prices for citrus fruits for processing and stated that applications from producers will begin on Monday, January 12; applications are accepted in person upon presentation of an ID.
The Cypfruvex Board of Directors reported that for processing at factories to obtain concentrates with a state subsidy, the following purchase prices have been set: Washington oranges — 11 Turkish lira per kilogram, Jaffa oranges — 11 lira/kg, lemons — 11 lira/kg, grapefruit — 11 lira/kg. Mandora mandarins (king) for processing are priced at 13 lira/kg, and for packaging Mandora mandarins — 14 lira/kg.
At the press conference, Board Chairman Ratip Irıkoğlu and CEO Mustafa Yüstenel were present. Irıkoğlu thanked Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and Agriculture Minister Hüseyin Çavuş for their contribution. He also noted that earlier sharp critical remarks directed at the management and the ministry were not responded to, in order to protect the interests of producers and institutions.
Board spokesperson Yözel Tahsin stated that the board is aware of its responsibility. For producers, this means the opportunity to deliver their harvest to Cypfruvex facilities at the established rates in person starting January 12.
