The Department of Culture and Eastern Mediterranean University signed a cooperation protocol in Northern Cyprus
A cooperation protocol was signed in Northern Cyprus between the Department of Culture under the Vice-Presidency — Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Culture and Environment and the Yozay Oral Library of Eastern Mediterranean University.
Under the protocol, there will be an exchange of information and documents between the National Library and public libraries under the Department of Culture, and the Yozay Oral Library of the university.
The protocol was signed by the Director of the Department of Culture, Shirin Zaimagaoglu, and the Director of the Yozay Oral Library of Eastern Mediterranean University, Osman Soykan. The signing took place at the Department of Culture building with the participation of the head of the Department’s Cultural Center, Ceyhan Yozyildiz.
The document establishes a systematic and institutional procedure for exchanging information and documents. According to the protocol, both parties can, upon mutual consultation, transfer, exchange, or donate books, journals, and other printed and non-printed materials that they deem unsuitable for inclusion in their collections for various reasons.
For residents of Northern Cyprus, the agreement could expand access to library resources and facilitate obtaining necessary print and electronic materials through mutual exchange and transfers between institutions.
