Two detained in drug cases in İskele and on the Haspolat–Taşkent highway

Northern Cyprus police have reported the detention of two individuals in cases related to illegal drug possession — one incident occurred in İskele, and the second on the Haspolat–Taşkent highway.
Operation in İskele
According to police, yesterday around 14:30 in the Long Beach Circle area of İskele, officers from the Crime Prevention Department conducted an operation during which 29-year-old H.T. was detained.
The following were discovered in his vehicle:
- 45 grams of a substance presumed to be cannabis,
- 8 grams of a substance presumed to be cocaine,
- Cash amounting to 15,575 Turkish Liras, 2,365 Euros, and 60 Pounds Sterling, which investigators believe may have been obtained from drug sales.
During a search of the suspect's residence in Famagusta, the following were also found:
- 9 grams of cannabis,
- 4 grams of cocaine,
- 2 tablets presumed to contain MDMA,
- About 1 gram of cannabis mixed with tobacco,
- As well as three 9mm live rounds of ammunition.
Detention on the Haspolat–Taşkent highway
As part of the investigation into an incident that occurred on February 8 on the Haspolat–Taşkent highway, another person has been detained.
Previously, during a search of a vehicle with two individuals inside, police found about 1 gram of cannabis mixed with tobacco. At that time, H.P. (32 years old) and M.A.T. (26 years old) were detained.
Further investigation established the involvement of another suspect — 23-year-old A.U., who has also been taken into custody.
The investigation continues.
