Lefke environmentalists: roundabout in Çengizköy poses a danger
The Lefke Association for Environmental and Ecology Issues stated that the roundabout in the Çengizköy area creates a serious threat to road safety.
According to the organization’s representatives, the intersection has poor visibility, lacks sufficient warning signs and lighting, and does not account for heavy traffic, especially during peak hours. Environmentalists emphasize that dangerous situations and accidents have been repeatedly recorded at this location, and the issue requires urgent intervention.
The association urged the responsible authorities to conduct a technical assessment of the site and take measures as soon as possible — from improving road markings and lighting to potentially reconstructing the roundabout.
Environmentalists warn that delays could lead to serious consequences and insist that the safety of drivers and pedestrians be prioritized.
