Electronic price tags: service already used by over 200,000 people

Minister of Economy Olgun Amcaoğlu reported that the electronic price tag system Elektronik Etiket Uygulaması (e-Etiket) was viewed and began being used by more than 200,000 people during its first week of operation.
According to him, the implementation of e-Etiket is the result of nearly two years of work and is aimed simultaneously at protecting consumer rights and ensuring fair competition conditions for store owners. The system allows citizens to compare product prices remotely, without needing to visit supermarkets.
Through e-Etiket, users can see current prices of products at different stores, while entrepreneurs can align their pricing strategies both in the TRNC and in Turkey. The system also displays product prices in euros based on the daily Central Bank rate, allowing for price comparisons with Southern Cyprus.
The minister noted that explanatory materials and informational videos on how to use the e-Etiket system will be more widely distributed in the near future.
