Engelliler Dayanışma Derneği held a picnic in honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

In Northern Cyprus, Engelliler Dayanışma Derneği organized a joint picnic in its courtyard for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, bringing together hundreds of people with disabilities, their families, and volunteers.
The event was conceived as an informal yet warm gathering: participants hugged, chatted, and shared experiences, emphasizing the sense of unity as a "big family." In his speech, Chairman Ömer Suay noted that thanks to love, family support, and volunteer efforts, the event became more than just a picnic.
According to the organization, such gatherings are important for strengthening the social integration of people with disabilities and raising public awareness of their rights and specific needs.
