57 TRNC Citizens Awaiting Return from Iran and Gulf Countries
TRNC Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu stated that Northern Cyprus citizens currently in Iran and the Gulf countries will only be able to return home after the cessation of hostilities and the reopening of airspace.
In an interview with BRT, he emphasized that the emergency consular line is operating 24/7:
"We know the location of all our citizens. We have information about their accommodation, including hotel names. For now, we must wait—airspace is closed, there are no flights, and evacuation is impossible."
57 Citizens Contacted Representations
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Mustafa Lakadamyalı reported that 57 TRNC citizens have contacted the representative offices so far:
- 52 people are in the UAE
- 2 are in Qatar
- 3 are in Lebanon
According to him, everyone is safe and maintaining contact with diplomatic services. Priority is given to tourists and citizens traveling for work.
Authorities are awaiting the reopening of airspace to organize their return.
