Yeşilırmak Strawberry Festival to be held May 9–10 in Northern Cyprus
The Yeşilırmak Strawberry Festival will take place in Northern Cyprus on May 9–10. This was announced by the chairman of the Yeşilırmak-Yedidalga Producers Union, Cavit Atalar; this year marks the 53rd time the event will be held.
Cavit Atalar noted that preparations for the festival are in full swing. The Union delegation included the mukhtar of Yeşilırmak, Ismet Özpolat, and board members Figen Karafistan, Aytül Yorulmaz, and Salahi Atalar. Yesterday, representatives of the association visited Lefke District Governor Cemal Orakçıoğlu and Lefke Mayor Aziz Kaya to request organizational and logistical support and officially invited them to participate in the celebration.
The festival, first held in Yeşilırmak in 1973, traditionally attracts local producers and residents of the region. For citizens and residents of Northern Cyprus, it is an opportunity to purchase fresh local strawberries, support agricultural producers, and attend cultural and entertainment events. Organizers ask to follow the official announcements of the Producers Union for program details and start times.
