"Our Hope" Festival to Bring Together Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot Youth
On Saturday, March 15, the “Our Hope” Youth Festival will take place in the Bandabuliya area of Nicosia. This final event of the Youth in Action: Strengthening Dialogue Through Culture project aims to bring together Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot youth to celebrate cultural heritage and promote peace.
The project is funded by the European Union and led by the HASDER Folk Arts Foundation in collaboration with the PAOK “Klirou” Sports and Cultural Association. The festival’s goal is to foster unity among young people from both communities, encouraging cultural preservation, dialogue, and peacebuilding. The celebration will begin at 2:30 PM on Saturday.
The festival will showcase Cypriot handicrafts, traditional street games, local delicacies, folk dance performances, live music, and interactive stage events. Various exhibitions will also highlight significant crafts and traditions of Cypriot culture.
Among the featured exhibitions are “Cypriot Folk Dance Costumes,” “Silkworm Cocoon Creations,” “Sesta Collection,” and “Traditional Kite Collection.” A total of 10 cultural and artistic associations will take part in the event.
