Fikri Ataoglu urged Turkish citizens to invest in real estate in Northern Cyprus
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment of the TRNC, Fikri Ataoglu, stated in Istanbul that the authorities’ priority is the acquisition of property and investment in Northern Cyprus by Turkish citizens. The statement was made on November 27 at the “11th World Halal Summit and International Halal Expo,” held under the auspices of the Presidency of Turkey.
According to the minister, all industrial and trade chambers, as well as TRNC producers, showcased the potential of Northern Cyprus at the event.
During the forum, companies held negotiations on cooperation and signing trade agreements.
Ataoglu reminded of the “Ada Kibris” project and reported that thanks to an advertising campaign and airline ticket price adjustments by Turkish Airlines and Pegasus, the number of arrivals to Northern Cyprus increased by 30–40% compared to last year.
The minister noted that the increase in visitors boosts consumption. This supports local producers and creates additional value for both the TRNC and Turkey. Arrivals are not only via sea and air ports but also day visitors through checkpoints.
He emphasized that medical tourism has actively developed over the past 11 years, and the number of visitors seeking treatment is growing. Efforts are underway to revive the construction sector. In the field of education, 50–60% of students come from Turkey. Authorities, he said, are ready to provide maximum possible assistance to Turkish citizens purchasing property in Northern Cyprus.
