Turkish-Cypriot footballer joins Cypriot club "Omonia"
18-year-old Turkish-Cypriot footballer Tahsin Ozler has signed his first professional contract. Until the end of the 2026/27 season, he will play for the Cypriot football club "Omonia".
In January, he made history by becoming the first Turkish-Cypriot since 1957 to play for the first team of a Cypriot club, coming off the bench to play the last half-hour in a Coca-Cola Cup match.
His team won with a score of 3:0 against "Digenis Ipson".
It is noted that he is the second Cypriot-Turk to play for the first team of "Omonia". The first, Ibrahim Aziz, played for the Nicosia-based club in the 1956-57 season.
Tahsin Ozler went through the club's academy, signing his first contract in 2017 when he was 11 years old.
