Football club from Famagusta wins Ahmed Sami Topkan Cup
The football club from Famagusta, Mağusa Türk Gücü, became the champion of the Ahmed Sami Topkan Cup organized by the Northern Cyprus Football Federation.
In the final match, the team from Famagusta met with Miracle Degirmenlik at the Cumhuriyet Stadium in Iskele. The regular time of the match ended with a score of 0:0. According to the tournament regulations, after 90 minutes of play, the winner was determined in a penalty shootout, in which the players of Mağusa Türk Gücü emerged victorious. The final score was 3:2.
The Ahmed Sami Topkan Cup is heading to the museum of the Mağusa Türk Gücü Football Club.
At the awards ceremony after the match, the second deputy president of KTFF, Hüseyin Düvenci, and Nazım Topkan, the son of Ahmed Sami Topkan, presented the teams with trophies and medals.
Ahmet Sami Topkan was the first president of the Northern Cyprus Football Federation. He led the sports association for 5 years from 1955 to 1960.
