President of the TRNC Meets with Turkish President Erdoğan
The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, held meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz during his visit to Ankara.
The Turkish Cypriot leader departed for Turkey from Ercan Airport yesterday afternoon, where he was seen off by Speaker of Parliament Ziya Öztürkler, Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek, and other officials.
Upon arriving in Ankara, President Tatar met with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. During their meeting, Vice President Yılmaz reiterated Turkey's unwavering support for the TRNC and emphasized the importance of resolving the Cyprus issue based on the recognition of two states and two communities.
- "During our discussions with Mr. President, we focused on the strong and cooperative relationship between our nations in all areas of life. Turkey has mobilized all its resources to ensure the freedom, prosperity, and well-being of the Turkish Cypriot people," said Vice President Yılmaz.
He concluded his remarks by extending New Year’s wishes to the citizens of the TRNC and announced that the construction of the Republic Assembly and the Presidential Campus in the TRNC would be completed by January.
Later, President Tatar met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex. This meeting was held behind closed doors, with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz also in attendance.
