Imported products: 2 samples exceed pesticide residues, local products are clean
The Department of Agriculture (Tarım Dairesi) published the results of the weekly inspection for the period of September 5–11: out of 54 samples of imported products, 52 met the standards, while two showed excess pesticide residues.
According to the department, out of 54 samples of imported products, 52 were clean, while two samples exceeded the maximum allowable pesticide levels. The affected samples — peach and kiwi — were destroyed at the company’s request. The statement names the suppliers of these batches as Bekir Djura and Mehtap Uzunkaya.
As for local products, all six sampled items met the standards and contained no detectable pesticide residues.
The inspection results indicate ongoing food safety monitoring: for residents, this means that during the specified week, local products passed the check without issues, while violations among imported products were identified and measures were taken to dispose of the contaminated batches.
