In the road accident on the Nicosia - Famagusta highway, an elderly man died
Another fatal road accident occurred in Northern Cyprus. An elderly man died in a horrific crash.
According to the police press service, the accident happened yesterday evening, around 21:20, on the main Nicosia - Famagusta road. 76-year-old Ahmet Latif was driving his car eastward. Not reaching 500 meters before the Inonu intersection, the man lost control, after which the car veered into the middle of the road and overturned. This led to a collision with a second car driven by 23-year-old Umut Baran, who was heading towards Nicosia in the leftmost lane.
As a result of the accident, the elderly driver of the first car died at the scene from the injuries sustained.
The police investigation into the accident continues.
