Winners Announced for the 33rd State Photography Competition
The results of the 33rd State Photography Competition, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, have been announced.
The award ceremony and the official opening of the exhibition will take place on August 19 — World Photography Day — at the Atatürk Cultural Center.
From a total of 1,014 entries submitted by 47 participants, the selection committee chose 107 photographs by 26 photographers to be displayed in the exhibition.
The winners of this year’s competition are Besime Tanul, Elif Atamaz, Hiba Mokalled Topçuoğlu, Mehmet Gökyiğit, Ulaş Sönmez, and Umut Yolsal.
For the first time in the competition’s history, the event featured seven categories. The selected works are as follows:

Free Photography (Black & White): 20 photographs by 14 photographers

Free Photography (Color): 19 photographs by 14 photographers

Nature (Color & Black & White): 16 photographs by 9 photographers

My City: Famagusta (Color & Black & White): 18 photographs by 13 photographers

Conceptual Photography (Open Theme): 10 photographs by 7 photographers

Architecture (Black & White) – Focus on the Works of Hakkı Atun and Burhan Atun: 16 photographs by 10 photographers

Underwater Photography – The Seas of Northern Cyprus (Color): 8 photographs by 6 photographers
(This is a newly introduced category for this year’s competition.)
