Cats stolen from shelter in Iskele
All the animals were stolen overnight between June 15 and 16, 2025, from a cat shelter located in the Caesar Resort residential complex (Iskele).
Volunteers report that dozens of cats have disappeared, including pregnant, sick, blind, and very young kittens. Many were undergoing treatment or preparing for sterilization.
"Our animals bothered no one — they live peacefully alongside people and protect the area from snakes, mice, and rats. But someone has started deliberately collecting and removing the most vulnerable," the shelter representatives stated.
One of the cats — a blind one — was rescued at the last moment. He was found in a live trap left near the shelter. The others are gone.
The housing complex administration confirmed they are aware of the situation but explained it is beyond their authority and recommended contacting the police.
Volunteers are now looking for any information:
"Please, if you saw anything suspicious — a person taking cats away, an unusual car, activity near the shelter — let us know. Even a small detail could help save a life."
