Direct Flights from TRNC to Trabzon to Begin in March
President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar has left the island and flown to Turkey for contacts in Trabzon. Speaking to the press, the leader of Northern Cyprus announced that direct flights from Ercan Airport to Trabzon will be launched in March.
In his statement to the press in Trabzon, President Ersin Tatar also expressed satisfaction with the reception he received in the city.
Stating that Trabzon is an important and valuable city for the TRNC, Ersin Tatar reminded that many residents of the city settled in the TRNC after 1974 and contributed to the struggle of Turkish Cypriots for national existence.
The head of Northern Cyprus also emphasized the importance of direct flights from the TRNC to Trabzon, adding that air transportation will be launched as early as March.
It is worth noting that during his trip to Trabzon, Ersin Tatar will hold a conference on the topic "The Strategic Significance of the TRNC in the Turkic World" at the Karadeniz Technical University, after which he will be awarded an honorary doctorate by the educational institution.
