Vakıflar Team Becomes European Vice-Champion at EuroCup 3
The Vakıflar wheelchair basketball team, representing the TRNC at the EuroCup 3 tournament, took second place in Europe at the competitions held in France.
According to the TRNC Disabled Sports Federation, the Vakıflar team competed in Group B against Meylan Grenoble Handibasket (France), KSS Mustang Konin (Poland), Toulouse Iron Club (France), and ASD Handicap Sport Varese (Italy).
The team played 4 matches, secured 2 victories, and finished the tournament in second place.
In addition, Vakıflar players received individual recognition. Team captain Murat Ekşi was named to the tournament's All-Star Five.
The federation emphasized that this result and the awards received represent one of the most significant international achievements in TRNC sports history.
During the tournament, the team also received support from Turkish fans living in France, who actively cheered for the athletes from the stands.
