On December 23, 2025, in Northern Cyprus, a protocol was signed at the headquarters building of Koopbank to launch a student sponsorship program between Koopbank and the Turkish Cypriot Education Foundation (KTEV). The program provides scholarships for 30 students within the framework of the “Student Sponsorship” system.
Those present at the signing ceremony included Koopbank Chairman of the Board Haluk Yerli, Chair of the KTEV Board of Trustees Umure Yörs, Koopbank General Manager and Board Member Kemal Ataman, KTEV Board of Trustees members Dilek Serak and Metin Kişi, as well as KTEV Director Fehiman Eminer.
Haluk Yerli stated that support for education is regarded by the bank as a long-term investment in the future and that Koopbank continues to provide assistance as part of its social responsibility. Umure Yörs noted that scholarship programs gain meaning when support is continuous and sustainable, and thanked Koopbank for continuing the cooperation.
The practical benefit for residents of Northern Cyprus is that 30 young people will receive financial support to continue their education, which may reduce barriers to accessing education. The program is implemented under the auspices of cooperation between a financial institution and an educational foundation.
