Turkish Cypriot culture presented at Nevruz celebrations in Berlin
Nevruz celebrations were held in Berlin, featuring the presentation of Turkish Cypriot culture. The event took place at the invitation of the TRNC Representative Office in Berlin, coordinated by the Department of Culture.
According to the department, the event was held at the Turkish Embassy in Berlin. The TRNC was represented by a delegation led by Culture Department Director Şirin Zaimağaoğlu, invited by TRNC Representative in Berlin Emine Andız.
As part of the program, the Gazimağusa Municipality dance group performed traditional folk dances, including Arabiye, Kozan, Mendilli, Darı, Kadın Karşılama, Orak, and Kına Sirtosu, as well as a staged traditional henna ceremony.
The event also featured dance groups from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
In addition to the stage program, participating countries presented national cultural stands. The TRNC stand displayed photographs from the state photo contest, as well as handicrafts, publications, and samples of traditional crafts.
During a visit to the TRNC stand, Turkish Ambassador to Berlin Gökhan Turan received a commemorative silk cocoon plaque with traditional cultural motifs, presented by Culture Department Director Şirin Zaimağaoğlu.
At the conclusion of the event, the photographs and books displayed at the stand were donated to the TRNC Representative Office in Berlin.
