Mass Brawl in Famagusta: Two Stabbed, Nine Arrested
A violent brawl broke out in Famagusta on Sunday night, leaving two young men with stab wounds and leading to the arrest of nine people.
According to the police press office, the incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. and involved two groups of young individuals. During the confrontation, knives were used, resulting in stab wounds to the back, lower back, and abdomen of two men — one aged 19 and the other 21.
One of the injured was treated and discharged from Famagusta State Hospital, while the other was admitted to the surgical ward for further care.
Police responded promptly to the scene and detained all participants involved in the fight, except one of the injured men. In total, nine people were arrested. The youngest of those detained are 19, and the oldest is 27.
The cause of the altercation remains unclear and is currently under investigation.
