Mayor of Dikmen Grants Women a Day Off on March 8
The Mayor of Dikmen, Yüksel Çelebi, has granted all female employees of the municipality a day off in connection with March 8 - International Women's Day.
According to the mayor, in honor of the holiday, working women have earned the right to take the day off at the municipality on March 8.
"March 8 should not only be a day of celebration, praise, and admiration of women, but also a day for discussing and addressing issues such as women's rights, gender inequality, and violence against women," the municipality's statement said.
The mayor also emphasized the importance of women for humanity and highlighted that this day should be considered as women's right to rest.
