Immigration center conducted simultaneous inspections in Güzelyurt and Kyrenia — 42 people interviewed, no violations found
On September 3, 2025, the Immigration Center under the Ministry of Interior conducted simultaneous inspections in Güzelyurt and Kyrenia regarding illegal residence. According to the Ministry, the raids were part of planned measures to monitor compliance with immigration legislation.
The operations involved staff from the Police Department and district administrations (kaymakamlık), coordinated with employees of the Immigration Service. During the inspections, 42 people were interviewed; no cases of illegal residence or other violations were recorded as a result of the inspections.
For island residents and employers, such raids mean continued monitoring of foreigners’ status and housing. According to the Ministry, citizens and employers are advised to ensure that residents and employees have valid residence and work documents to avoid potential issues during inspections.
