Minister: Damage to agricultural lands in the TRNC will be compensated as soon as possible
The Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hüseyin Çavuş, stated on 09.12.2025 that the damage to agricultural production areas in the TRNC caused by heavy rainfall, hail, and storms will be compensated as soon as possible.
According to the minister, the assessment of damages is being conducted promptly. The Agricultural Insurance Fund, the Livestock Department, the Agriculture Department, and the Veterinary Department are participating in field operations. The extent of the damage will be determined immediately, after which the appropriate compensation will be paid.
Çavuş urged affected producers to submit damage assessment applications: owners of crop production should contact the Regional Agriculture Office, and livestock farm owners — the Regional Livestock Office. This will expedite inspections and the processing of payments.
The minister also warned that rainfall will intensify this evening and tomorrow, recommending that producers take necessary precautions. He stated that ensuring continuity of production is the primary task of the department, and the state will continue to support farmers and livestock breeders under all conditions.
