Famagusta Municipality Purchases Two Vacuum Road Sweepers
On March 18, 2026, the Famagusta Municipality in Northern Cyprus announced the addition of two new vacuum road sweeping machines to the Cleaning Department's fleet.
According to the municipality, the supply tender was won by Artesa Trd. Co. Ltd. The contract was signed by Mayor Süleyman Uluçay and the company's director, Şaban Emre. The signing ceremony was attended by tender committee members Erhun Şahali and Özgür Dedeoğlu.
The municipality's statement indicated that the new machines are intended for use in narrow streets and areas with heavy pedestrian traffic, such as Suriçi, to improve cleaning efficiency. The equipment is expected to increase the scope and quality of urban cleaning operations.
The report also noted that the investment is seen as a significant step toward the goal of making the city one of the cleanest. Residents were urged to show increased responsibility and participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the environment.
