Iskele Municipality organizes traditional date distribution on November 15
The Municipality of Iskele in Northern Cyprus announced the organization of its traditional date distribution on November 15, Republic Day. The event will take place at the Municipality’s Public Beach.
According to the Municipality, municipal crews have already harvested dates from the palm trees at the Public Beach and placed them in a special area to ripen before the distribution date.
Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu stated that this annual tradition strengthens the spirit of solidarity and unity. He reminded that dates have been distributed at the Public Beach for seven consecutive years, and this year, for the eighth time, the Municipality will once again share the harvest with residents.
The statement also noted that the initiative aims to jointly celebrate November 15 and preserve the traditions of the Turkish Cypriot community. The Municipality promised to announce further details regarding the timing and procedure of the date distribution soon.
