Man Dies on Girne Beach While Trying to Save His Wife
A heartbreaking incident took place over the weekend in Northern Cyprus, where a man lost his life while trying to save his wife from drowning on a beach in Girne.
According to a statement from the police, the tragedy occurred around 5:00 PM on Sunday at Alagadi-2 Beach. Bayram Nurseidev, 34, jumped into the sea to rescue his wife, who was struggling to stay afloat amid strong waves. In the attempt, he himself got caught in the rough waters.
Local residents pulled him out of the sea and administered first aid before he was rushed to Akçiçek Hospital in Girne by ambulance. Despite the doctors' best efforts, he could not be saved.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
