“We are on site before the rains begin” — authorities inspect problem areas

The Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the TRNC, Dursun Oğuz Amdcaoğlu, stated that services had been deployed in advance to problematic areas in anticipation of rainfall. According to him, inspections and preparatory work are being carried out in districts where flooding and drainage problems were previously recorded.
Amdcaoğlu emphasized that the goal is to minimize risks to residents and infrastructure rather than respond after bad weather has already begun. Specialists are assessing the condition of riverbeds, storm drains, and vulnerable points in order to prevent a repeat of past incidents.
The ministry assured that the work will continue throughout the entire period of unstable weather and that services are operating in a state of heightened readiness.
