Two women in Cyprus plead guilty to fraud over TRNC property 'sales'
In the Republic of Cyprus, legal proceedings continue against two women accused of fraud in the sale of real estate located in Northern Cyprus, particularly in the Famagusta area.
According to Phileleftheros, the women, aged 44 and 53, promised potential buyers quick compensation and assistance in selling property, but in fact, they swindled money from them.
At a court hearing in Limassol, the defendants stated through their lawyers that they were ready to plead guilty to the charges brought against them.
The 44-year-old woman admitted to 16 charges, including 12 counts of obtaining money by false pretenses and 4 counts of money laundering. The second defendant pleaded guilty to 2 counts of fraud.
Investigators believe the crimes were committed between 2023 and 2025. More than 18 people fell victim, many of whom are relatives.
According to the investigation, the defendants received about 300,000 euros by convincing people to pay for alleged property appraisals and legal procedures. Payments were made in cash or through the Revolut platform.
