A series of crimes was recorded in Cyprus overnight on March 25: in the Larnaca district (Aradippou), an unknown individual hijacked a police van; near Paphos (Geroskipou), a bell was stolen from a chapel; and in South Nicosia, a bomb exploded at a reception center.

According to police, the Aradippou incident occurred around 01:00 at a checkpoint established due to foot-and-mouth disease. An unidentified man got into a patrol-type van and drove off. An officer pursued in a private vehicle; the suspect drove into a dead end, abandoned the van, and fled. The investigation is ongoing.

In the Paphos district, specifically in the settlement of Geroskipou, a bell was stolen from a small chapel. Authorities are asking anyone who can assist in its recovery to contact the Geroskipou Municipality or the police.

In South Nicosia, an explosive device detonated at the entrance of a center used for receptions and official events; the blast caused serious damage and was described as having high destructive power. Police are investigating all episodes.

Residents are advised to report any available information to law enforcement. Further details and official statements are expected as the investigation continues.
