Bi-Communal Short Story Contest in Cyprus: Submissions Extended
The deadline for entries in the Bi-Communal Short Story Contest in Cyprus has been extended. Organized through a collaboration between two writers' unions from both communities on the island, the competition will now accept submissions until the end of April.
Announced in September 2024 by the Cyprus Writers and Artists' Unions, the contest is open to authors under the age of 45.
Participants are invited to submit multiple short stories on any topic, as well as one long short story in either Turkish or Greek, with a length between 25 and 35 pages. Stories should be typed in Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing, and must not have been published before.
All entries will be reviewed by a three-member jury in both languages. The winning stories in each language will be translated into the other language and published in a joint book.
Submissions must be made in three copies, placed in a sealed envelope labeled “Bi-Communal Short Story Contest,” along with a pseudonym and a four-digit code. A second small envelope inside the first should contain the same pseudonym and code, as well as the author's name, age, and contact details (phone number, WhatsApp, email). Additionally, a copy of the ID is required to verify the author’s age.
Address for submissions:
