A young man narrowly escaped drowning at the beach in Yeniboğaziçi
A 25-year-old man's swimming experience at the public beach in Yeniboğaziçi almost ended in tragedy. After being rescued, the man was hospitalized.
According to the police press service, the incident occurred early in the morning on December 21, around 7:30. Yakup Enes Karagöz, aged 25, went for a swim in the sea at the public beach in Yeniboğaziçi. At some point, he was hit by a strong wave, pulling him into the sea. The man began to drown, and he was saved by a local resident.
After being pulled ashore, the victim was transported by ambulance first to Famagusta State Hospital and then to Nicosia State Hospital, named after Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu.
The man is currently under observation in the neurology department.
