Shooting Exercises at the Beyköy Firing Range near Nicosia
Artillery shooting exercises have commenced near Nicosia. Heavy weaponry will be fired at the Beyköy firing range.
According to the statement of the governor of the Nicosia district, artillery firing with heavy weapons will take place at the shooting range daily from 07:30 to 22:00 until Saturday, January 20.
The statement emphasized that entry into this area by land, sea, or air is prohibited during the shooting period.
It is also noted that since the search and disposal of unexploded shells will continue for some time after the exercises, entry into the area should not be attempted until the lifting of the restriction is announced by the authorities.
In case of discovering unexploded ordnance and bullets remaining after the exercises, it is advised to report them to the nearest military unit, as they may pose a threat to the safety of citizens' lives and property.
As previously reported, mortar shelling exercises are also taking place in the Mevlevi polygon area near Güzelyurt from January 2 to January 22. Entry into the polygon areas is prohibited on the specified days.
