Mortar Exercises to Be Held at the Range Near Güzelyurt
Mortar firing exercises will take place at the Mevlevi range near Güzelyurt in Northern Cyprus. Access to the range area will be prohibited from December 16 to December 20.
According to a statement from the Güzelyurt District Governor's Office, firing will occur daily from 07:00 to 21:00.
During the exercises, access will be restricted within a 500-700 meter radius of the range, covering the area between the villages of Yuvacık, Kalkanlı, Sogan Hill, and Gürkan Cape.
Since a search and clearance operation for unexploded ordnance will follow the exercises, access to the area around the range will remain prohibited until further notice.
If any unexploded munitions are found, they should be reported immediately to the 2nd Infantry Battalion (Mevlevi) for disposal.
