ON THE KUMYALI MARKET, A FOOD THIEF WAS CAUGHT
The TRNC police arrested a man suspected of stealing a large quantity of products at the market in the village of Kumyali. During the search, they found alcohol, cigarettes, canned goods, as well as a school bag and an umbrella.
According to the police press service, yesterday evening, around 4:00 PM, a 53-year-old man stole 70 packs of cigarettes of various brands from the operating market in Kumyali on the Famagusta-Karpaz highway. However, he couldn't escape with the loot - he was detained by the arriving police officers.
During the search of the detainee's car, the following items were found: 51 bottles of alcoholic beverages, 16 packs of tuna, 12 packs of laundry detergent, 10 packs of cigarettes, 5 packs of finger batteries, 3 boxes of herbal tea, 2 shampoos, 6 bags, one school bag, one purse, and an umbrella. According to the investigation, the suspect stole all these items from the market traders.
The police investigation into the theft is ongoing.
