Scheduled power outages in Northern Cyprus on October 13 and 14

The state electricity company of Northern Cyprus (KIB-TEK) announced scheduled power outages that will take place on October 13 and 14 in several regions. The works are related to the maintenance of medium-voltage lines and infrastructure modernization.

October 13 — Lefkoşa District

On Sunday, October 13, from 09:00 to 10:00, electricity supply will be temporarily suspended in the settlements of Beyköy, Cihangir, Gökhan, and Düzova.

According to KIB-TEK, the outages are connected to the connection of new storage facilities and the inspection of medium-voltage lines supplying the industrial zone.

October 14 — Girne District

On Monday, October 14, from 10:00 to 13:00, electricity will be cut off in the vicinity of Doğanköy and Ciklos, including the area of Çiklos Pumping Stations (Çiklos Pompa İstasyonları).

The power company clarified that these works are part of preventive maintenance of distribution networks aimed at improving supply reliability.

Residents and business owners are advised to take precautions and disconnect sensitive equipment from the grid during the outage. After restoration, short-term voltage fluctuations may occur, so it is recommended to wait a few minutes before using household appliances.

KIB-TEK noted that such preventive outages are carried out regularly to improve power supply quality and prevent failures. The schedules of these works are published in advance on the company’s official resources.
