In Northern Cyprus on August 28 — heat up to 38°C, south and west winds
According to the Meteorology Department, on August 28 the region will be under the influence of a shallow cyclone and warm, relatively humid air mass. Maximum temperature is expected at 35–38°C in inland areas and 31–34°C on the coast.
Forecast for the coming days: today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday will be clear or slightly cloudy. On Saturday during the day variable cloudiness is possible, while on Tuesday and Wednesday the sky will again be mostly clear. Winds mainly from the south and west, of moderate strength.
Recommendations for residents and visitors of Northern Cyprus: limit exposure to direct sun during peak hours, drink more water, if possible use air conditioning or cool indoor areas. Vulnerable groups (elderly, children, people with chronic conditions) should take extra precautions and keep medicines and doctors’ contact numbers handy.
Drivers should consider the increased risk of vegetation overheating and rapid drying of shaded road surfaces, while private and agricultural landowners should follow fire safety rules when working with open flames and equipment.
