In Northern Cyprus, each social assistance recipient, disabled person, martyr’s family and veteran will receive 10,000 lira
The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, announced that residents receiving social assistance, disabled persons, families of martyrs, veterans and war-disabled individuals will receive a one-time payment of 10,000 Turkish lira. The decision was agreed upon during talks with Turkey’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz during his visit to the island.
According to the president, within the framework of this decision, about 10,750 people will receive assistance, with the total amount of funds reaching approximately 84 million lira. Tatar noted that similar programs had already been implemented in 2020 and 2022 to mitigate the consequences of the pandemic, and that the new support is aimed at helping the most vulnerable groups of the population.
The authorities expect the transfer of funds in the coming days; specific dates and payment procedures will be officially announced. For recipients, this means short-term financial relief, so it is important to follow announcements from TRNC ministries and institutions regarding distribution procedures and required documents. Tatar expressed gratitude to the Turkish authorities for the support provided.
