In Northern Cyprus, a car hit two pedestrians: one of them died
A fatal traffic accident occurred on the eve in Northern Cyprus. A car hit two pedestrians. One of them died, the other is in the hospital.
According to the police press service, the accident happened around 20:50 on the Tuzla - Mutluyaka highway. The 39-year-old driver, Suleyman Sulyuk, was driving towards Mutluyaka and hit two people walking on the left side of the road. As a result of the collision, 27-year-old Muhammad Umar Faropk and 25-year-old Sanavar Shabaz were injured.
Both injured individuals were taken to Famagusta State Hospital. Sanavar Shabaz was under observation in the emergency department after treatment. The second man suffered serious injuries, despite all the efforts of the medical staff, he could not be saved - the young man died from the injuries he sustained.
The car driver has been detained. The investigation is ongoing.
