In Northern Cyprus, the minimum public sector salary will be 68,462 lira, and the maximum — 361,949 lira
In July 2025, Northern Cyprus expects a revision of public sector wages due to planned changes in tax rates. The Ministry of Finance is reviewing updated calculations that will affect the net income of civil servants. According to forecasts, once the new tax scales are approved, the minimum net salary for a public employee will be around 68,462 Turkish lira, while the highest public sector salary — received by the president — will reach 361,949 lira including representation expenses.
Analysis shows that in July, the lowest net salary in government structures is approximately 63,963 lira for technical or maintenance staff. Employees without higher education will receive 68,462 lira. University graduates will earn about 74,115 lira, while teachers will make approximately 78,271 lira. General practitioners will receive 123,548 lira, and specialist doctors will earn 143,199 lira.
Management-level staff also receive significant remuneration. Department heads (şube amiri) will earn about 106,424 lira, while politically appointed directors (siyasi atama müdürü) will receive 145,355 lira. The salary of the state secretary (müşteşar) will reach 173,750 lira. Members of Parliament will earn 243,255 lira per month.
The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will receive a base salary of 279,685 lira, plus representation allowances of 82,264 lira. His total monthly income will amount to 361,949 lira.
For comparison, the minimum net salary in the private sector set for July 2025 is 44,546 lira. This means even the lowest public sector salary exceeds it by almost 44%.
This data is still preliminary and may be revised after discussions on tax rate adjustments are completed. Final amounts will be announced after the official approval of the new public sector wage scale.
