A discount on gasoline has started in Northern Cyprus
Gasoline has become slightly cheaper in Northern Cyprus. The 1 lira discount promised by the Prime Minister has come into effect.
According to the decision published in the "Official Gazette," the price of 95-octane gasoline at gas stations has decreased from 37.45 to 36.45 Turkish lira, 98-octane has fallen from 38.45 to 37.45 TL, Euro-diesel now costs 34.95 instead of 35.95 TL. The price of kerosene has decreased from 35.95 to 34.95 TL. The new prices have been effective from today.
Recall that earlier, during a visit to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that gasoline would become cheaper by 1 lira in Northern Cyprus. According to the politician, the authorities are "working to make life cheaper."
The Prime Minister also noted that reducing fuel prices is necessary to encourage residents to shop more often in the TRNC rather than in the Republic of Cyprus.
