New Judicial Year Begins in Northern Cyprus
On Monday, September 16, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will kick off its new judicial year for 2024-2025. The official ceremony will start at 10:00 AM at the Faculty of Open Education in Nicosia.
The ceremony will feature speeches from TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Chief Justice Bertan Özerdağ, Hasan Esendağlı, Chairman of the Bar Association, and Attorney General Sarper Altıncık.
Other notable attendees will include Kadir Özkay, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey; Ömer Kerkenez, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Appeals; Zeki Yiğit, Chairman of the State Council; Ridvan Gülç, Chairman of the Dispute Court; and his wife, Zekiye Gülç. Also present will be Uğur Parlak, Head of the Department of the Justice Academy, and Hagani Mammadov, Head of the Administrative Affairs Department of Azerbaijan.
It is worth mentioning that the new Chief Justice of the TRNC, Bertan Özerdağ, took his oath of office in mid-May.
